Cooperation between child care and criminal justice agencies in case of sex offences against children
Project date range: 2008 - 2010
Funding institution: European Commission
Description
Children who become victims of sex offenses are entitled to protection and assistance, not only from children and youth services but also from police, public prosecution and court – therefore from a large number of institutions with different (legal) contracts, organisational structures, self-conceptions, interests and terminologies. It can be assumed that a coordinated approach of the participants unfolds a better effect for the victims than a juxtaposition of individual measures, whereas permanent interdisciplinary alliances are probably more efficient than one-time ad-hoc contacts. The target of the research project therefore was to develop a model concept for interdisciplinary cooperation on sex offences against children with the participation of public children and youth services and criminal justice.
