Recidivism of sex offenders - a review

Description

In addition to original KrimZ studies on sex offenders, reviews, secondary analyses and scientific articles from Anglo-American countries have been evaluated. The focus of interest lays in the research on sex offenses connected with physical violence. Findings show that it is impossible to determine a firm recidivism quota. On the one hand, some recidivism rates are very low; whereas on the other, some rates vary up to 55 % and more. Findings are contingent upon variables such as offense type, offender peculiarities, chosen measure of recidivism, observation period and control activities and therapy as well.
